MMA Training Myths?

Says we should stick to the heavy lifts and stop swimming in shark tanks. Looks like that 80,000 gallon holding aquarium was a bad investment...

That's a really good article. Rooney's new book is great. I didn't know that Todd Hays got him into MMA. Hays is in the Rickson Gracie documentary Choke and seems like a total d-bag.

I'm glad he called out the crazy shit on TUF. The marvels of editing undoubtedly mask the reality of the training, but it's never surprised me that most of those guys look totally gassed in their fights.

I can't remember if Rooney said this recently, but it makes a lot of sense to me as I try to make smarter training decisions: Get strong, let your sport develop your conditioning. Or maybe it was Robb Wolf. Either way, I'm sure they'd both agree!
