F'ing Ret*rded Study of the Week

"What's more important in maintaining a healthy body weight? Eating healthy food or simply reducing your calorie intake?"

You know, because (a)weight is the determining factor of health, and (b)this is a legitimate question.

HowTo: Lose 27 Pounds Eating Twinkies

Sure, we love ourselves some bacon and often ogle foodstuffs of questionable edibility, but this is not a USFHCCC Paradox Error. It's fucking dumb. Type 2 dumb. (And I love how, as usual, it's fat grams that get singled out.)

Nonetheless, here's the conclusion of the "professor":
I'm not geared to say this is a good thing to do. I'm stuck in the middle. I guess that's the frustrating part. I can't give a concrete answer. There's not enough information to do that.

Bravo. Get this guy another grant. Maybe the National Corn Growers Association can foot it, then selectively publish the findings to prove that HFCS—er, corn sugar?—is the source of rainbows and puppies.

Most awesome sandwich??

Woah!

XARM Redux

Wait a minute... That original video (which has unfortunately been dropped from YouTube) looked like a joke. This suddenly looks very real.

(I will admit that the over-the-table armbar is pretty friggin' sweet!)

MMA Training Myths?

http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_article/most_recent/11_myths_of_warrior_training

Says we should stick to the heavy lifts and stop swimming in shark tanks. Looks like that 80,000 gallon holding aquarium was a bad investment...

USFHCCC Paradox Error

Awesome and gross at the same time!

The Burger King Pizza Burger

Following up on the shake weight

As a follow-up to this post, here is an interview with the inventor.

Judging from this quote, I don't like him:

"Women don't like heavy gym equipment that's designed for men to bulk up – most of the weight products on the market are designed for weightlifting."

What!?!?!  Fuck you!  I'm tired of people thinking that women don't/shouldn't/can't lift heavy weights or lift like men.  Grrrr....

Wicked Stoopid Fitness Gadget #548-B

Oh lord, I can't stop laughing... Remember Wicked Stoopid Fitness Gadget #548? Well, some corporate jackwagon figured out a way to expand the market.

"Whew! That's it!"

HellooloOOoooOo?

::tap tap:: Is this thing on...?

Not much chatter, bacon-related or otherwise, on the shamelessly self-described most Hardcore blog ever. What have people been up to? Who's training what and how? What are you (not) eating?

Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Bonus!
Hardcore Hatred Lite: People who say "Bueller? Bueller?" during moments of non-responsive, awkward silence.

This one is starting to grind my gears. For some reason, any time a speaker gets a blank response from an audience query it seems to grant them license to quote the overly dry Ben Stein professor. I've noticed it with increased frequency lately- perhaps I need to seek out presentations with a higher quality index.

Take my Safety Officer at work for example, who might ask this after an inane 15 minute PowerPoint presentation on how to safely handle razor blades when opening boxes (seriously):

Safety Officer: "..ok so are there any questions?"
Audience: ::silence, since we're all reasonably intelligent adults who can operate straight edges without safety instructions::
Safety Officer: "Anyone? Anyone?? Bueller? Bueller?"

This annoys me because it's an unfunny, overused and no-longer-clever bid for a cheap laugh destined to get the crowd re-interested in your stupid speech. Or maybe because I'm too angry as an individual. Or because I dislike Matthew Broderick. Whatever. The point is, cliches are not hardcore (exception: "grind my gears").

Also, be sure to sign out a box cutter and wear cut-resistant gloves when opening packages.

Renegade Row on Roids

Hmm..can't decide if this is a P-trick PSA in the making or a hardcore move. Another paradox?

As far as I'm concerned, don't do that Sh*t.
